Dr. Courtney Andrews, DVM

Dr. Courtney Andrews grew up in Kingston before moving to Sudbury in 2002. She completed an Honours Bachelor of Science degree at Laurentian University. She then pursued her veterinary degree abroad at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Medicine in the United Kingdom.

During her studies, Dr. Andrews gained valuable experience volunteering and completing placements in Scotland, India, and Sudbury, including at Lockerby Animal Hospital, where she returned as an Associate Veterinarian in August 2013.

Dr. Andrews is passionate about being a medical detective, enjoying the process of piecing together symptoms and diagnostic findings to determine a diagnosis and treatment plan. She finds it highly rewarding to see her patients improve and build relationships with their owners. Her interests also include soft tissue surgery and ultrasonography.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Andrews enjoys playing hockey and baseball, paddle boarding, and spending time with family and friends. She shares her home with her two dogs, Einstein, an Australian Shepherd Mix, and Argyll, a Cairn Terrier.

Stephanie, Registered Veterinary Technician

With over 16 years of experience as a Registered Veterinary Technician, Stephanie has been a dedicated member of the veterinary field since graduating from Algonquin College in Ottawa in May 2009. She became officially registered the following month, and has since built a career marked by strong organizational skills and a passion for patient care.

Her professional interests include inventory management, veterinary dentistry, and client education—areas where she enjoys making a meaningful difference both behind the scenes and in direct interaction with pet owners.

Outside of work, Stephanie enjoys reading, spending quality time with her family, and caring for her energetic mixed-breed puppy, Olive.

Allison, Registered Veterinary Technician

Allison started her journey in Veterinary Medicine over 25 years ago as a highschool co-op student in January of 2000 at a local animal hospital where she later worked as a kennel attendant for 4 years. She then attended Seneca College and completed the veterinary technician diploma program in May 2006 and achieved the title of Registered Veterinary Technician in January 2007. She has been working mainly in private practice since graduation.

With the constant new research and advancements in veterinary medicine over the last 2 decades Allison finds the job as interesting and rewarding as she did the first day. She finds a sense of pride in providing exceptional care to all her patients and feels very privileged to be able to care for people’s furry loved ones.
She has always had a special interest in anesthesia and patient care, and more recently in behaviour and looks forward to this new journey as part of the Laurentian Trails Team.

Allison enjoys spending her free time with family and friends and has found a new passion recently, becoming a Mother. She shares her home with her fiance and daughter and is looking forward to introducing a new bundle of fur to her home in the near future.

Ashley, Vet Assistant

Ashley has been working in the veterinary field for a little over three years and brings with her a lifetime of dedication to animals through many years of volunteering. She is currently pursuing her goal of becoming a Registered Veterinary Technician and is passionate about expanding her knowledge every step of the way. Ashley has a particular interest in animal rehabilitation and is always eager to learn new techniques to help her patients recover and thrive.

When she’s not at the clinic, Ashley can be found spending quality time with her beloved golden retriever, Bigsby. Whether they’re relaxing at home or out enjoying the outdoors, their bond is unbreakable and full of adventure.

Jamie, Registered Veterinary Technician

With over 15 years of experience in the veterinary field, Jamie brings both knowledge and heart to her role as the friendly face that greets every client and patient at the front desk. After working in the field for many years, she followed her passion and returned to school later in life, graduating from the University of Guelph – Ridgetown Campus to become a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT).

Although she currently works as our receptionist, Jamie’s background as a tech gives her a well-rounded understanding of both client service and patient care, making her an invaluable part of our team.

Outside of the clinic, Jamie enjoys spending time with her family at their campground on the beautiful French River. She’s an avid gardener, reader, and outdoor enthusiast who loves boating, Sea-Doo rides, swimming, and biking. At home, she shares her life with three lovable dachshunds, a friendly lab, a cat, and several fish tanks.

Jamie’s sweet nature, positive energy, and dedication to animals make her a beloved team member and a favorite among clients and their furry companions.

Nyah, Veterinary Assistant

Nyah is one of our Veterinary Assistants. She’s the proud owner of a Doberman named Baz, who not only keeps her on her toes but also sparked her strong interest in dog behavior and training. Working hands-on with dogs and cats everyday has helped her develop a calm, patient approach, especially with nervous or high-energy pets.

Nyah plans to attend Veterinary Technician school in the future and is excited to continue growing her knowledge and skills in the veterinary field. She’s especially interested in canine behavior and nutrition.

When she’s not at work, she enjoys hiking with Baz, spending time outdoors, and continuing to learn as much as she can about animal health and their wellbeing. Whether in the clinic or on the trail, she’s happiest when she’s working with animals—especially the big ones.

Morgan, Registered Veterinary Technician

Morgan is bilingual and a proud Collège Boréal graduate (Class of 2024). She recently passed her VTNE on September 5th and is currently completing the final steps to become a Registered Veterinary Technician.

Morgan has a special interest in veterinary dentistry, cytology, and radiology, and we’re thrilled to have her skills and passion in our hospital.

When she’s not caring for patients, Morgan enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends — including her furry companions, Hunter & Cece. In the summer, you’ll likely find her at the cottage, paddle boarding or kayaking with her mom and soaking up the sunshine.
